Teen TV

ABOUT TEEN TV:

“Teen TV” is a weekly club which is part of NSTV’s Youth Project. The goal of the Youth Project is to provide media arts training for students interested in the field of Television and to develop leadership, group work and critical thinking skills. Our students have training and access to the NSTV production studio and remote equipment as well as Adobe Premiere editing.

Through NSTV series “Access Spotlight”, the Teen TV group gains experience and knowledge from interviewing local politicians and not for profit organization representatives that serve our community.

In addition to their earning experience and knowledge, the students can also acquire High School Community credits for graduation, and are eligible for NSTV’s High School Community Service Award for graduating seniors.

This program is sponsored by GiGi’s Pizza and proudly supported by a grant from Investors Foundation

Eligible students: 8th grade through senior year.

Teen TV meets Thursdays at 4pm-6pm and follows the school calendar (No school = no Teen TV). Refreshments always provided. For more information or to join please contact Michael Peters at mpeters@NSTV.org or (516) 629-3710 x19.

The Michael DeCristoforo Community Service Award:

Each year 1 or more senior participants from Teen TV are chosen to be the recipient of the Michael DeCristoforo Community service award and scholarship.

Michael DeCristoforo passed away on March 18, 2013 due to complications from a car accident. His memory and legacy lives on at NSTV through the Community Service Award given in his name each year to a deserving high school senior who reflects the same exemplary qualities that he possessed when with us.
